As you know, Just Happy Hounds Midtown hit the ground running this summer with the opening of their new dog daycare in Birmingham and everyone is finding out that Just Happy Hounds is a happy place for dogs (and a pig) and people!
Here is a snippet from the article published today at AL.com along with a link to ready the full article:
“It’s called Just Happy Hounds for a reason,” said general manager Sarah Mills.
“No. 1, we want the dogs to be happy. No. 2, we want our employees to be happy. And No. 3, our clients are going to be happy going out that door.”
Just Happy Hounds is a doggie day care that opened a couple months ago across the street from WorkPlay on Fifth Avenue South in midtown. It’s an 8,000 square foot building with play rooms, luxury suites, an exercise room and an outside play area.
And Mills and Just Happy Hounds didn’t just open and hope for business. The doggie daycare involved itself in the animal rescue and advocacy communities immediately.
Just Happy Hounds was a major sponsor for Hand in Paw’s Picasso Pets fundraiser. Just Happy Hounds workers have volunteered with Greater Birmingham Humane Society on fundraising events. They are developing relationships with animal rescues and offering discounts for adopted pets.
And Mills, who has been involved in animal rescue for years, recently rescued a pot-bellied pig of her own.
